Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

I’m the Program Support Technician at Holliday Lake State Park. That means I get to use all my office and organizational skills in a place where the great outdoors is right outside my office. Growing up on a farm in Buckingham County, I learned the value of spending time in nature with all its creatures. Some activities I enjoy are camping, hiking, gardening, kayaking, and photography. Many of my blog articles are about the history of the park and I love researching and learning more about life in the 1800s. In fact, sometimes I think I was born 100 years late. My life outside of the park is full with church, family, and fun adventures!
